The Historically Black Colleges and Universities Conference (HBCUCon) is an annual event that celebrates and promotes the value of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and its culture. HBCUCon brings together HBCU alumni and supporters from across the country for a multi-disciplinary festival and conference curated like none-other with culture infused at every touchpoint. At the conference, attendees are set for music, art, food, networking, laughter, friendly rivalry, and community building with a mash-up of thought leaders, influencers, and engaging dialogue.

 

Additionally, HBCUCon will feature a variety of workshops, panel discussions, and keynote speakers on topics ranging from health and wellness, social justice, technology, entrepreneurship, and activism. HBCUCon will also include social events and activities, such as concerts, parties, comedy shows, and cultural celebrations, highlighting the unique traditions and the history of HBCUs. 

 

The target audience is Black Americans between the ages of 25 and 65 who are HBCU alumni and HBCU friends who share a common cultural experience and identity. According to the Selig Center for Economic Growth’s report published by Nielsen, the Black buying power in the United States is estimated to grow to $1.98 trillion by 2025. This dynamic group of individuals values family, career, technology, social justice, wellness, and style.
